US Financial and Monetary Policies

There can be little doubt that we Americans love money. Unfortunately we love spending it more than we love having it. This has caused a ¨culture of debt¨. Very few of us actually save any money and spend much more than we earn every year. I encourage everyone to read http://www.tomorrowsmoney.org/youngpeople/section.cfm/386 and to think carefully about your financial goals.

I believe it is fair to say that the average American is careless and wasteful with his or her money. It is said that our elected officials are but a reflection of ourselves r so what do you think that makes them? Our elected officials are just as careless and wasteful when it comes to our tax money as the average American is with their paycheck. Billions in foreign aid, billions to maintain our military, billions to build better weapons, billion is advertising and these numbers are increasing every year. We simply do not have unlimited resources and printing more money is the worst thing we could do. Is it really that hard to spend less money? We Americans like not doing things maybe we should try not spending as much money.

When our country was founded some if not all states had their own individual currencies and when they ran out of money they simply printed more. This caused run away inflation and basically defrauded their creditors. This outraged many of our founding fathers who then pushed for a single asset based national currency which we had for many years. Now the only asset that our currency is based on is the ¨Faith and Goodwill of the United States Government¨. How much faith or goodwill do you think the government keeps in stock? I would judge by the state of our affairs they don´t have much if any left. Also, when we are confronted with a deficit what do we do? We print more money just as the states did all those years ago. I am sure our founding fathers would be just as outraged now as they were then.

Go Ron Paul!!

U.S. Officials Begin Crafting Iran Bombing Plan

The Bush administration has has been pushing for tough new sanctions on Iran in an attempt to force them into giving up their nuclear ambitions. However, international support has never been strong for such sanctions. The Chinese and Russians and been openly opposed to them for months and now Germany has also declared its opposition as well.

Now the Bush administration is researching its military options. If any military action is taken against Iran by the US we should expect reprisals not only against our forces in the region but against Israel as well. I have been saying for over a year that the President would not leave the Iranian question for the next President to answer.

I have not made up my mind on if I agree with a military solution or not yet. I will have to do some more research. However, the Iranian President has said over and over that he would not give up his nuclear program under any circumstances. Also, I do concede that a nuclear capable Iran is not in the world's best interest but given this administration's track record I don't believe that diplomacy was tried in good faith.

The jury is still out -

Tired of clicking "Don't Send" on those Windows XP error reports??

When Windows XP encounters a severe error that has the potential to crash the operating system, it immediately halts the offending program and displays an error message that says the application has encountered a problem and needs to close. Then, the operating system prompts you to send an error report to Microsoft. You can avoid having to click the Don’t Send button by disabling Error Reporting.

Here’s how:

1. Press [Windows][Break] to display the System Properties dialog box. If you don't have a "Windows" key you can right click on the "My Computer" icon and select properties.

2. Select the Advanced tab and click the Error Reporting button.

3. When you see the Error Reporting dialog box, select the Disable Error Reporting option. (If you don’t want to see any type of error message, clear the But Notify Me When Critical Errors Occur check box.)

4. Click OK twice — once to close the Error Reporting dialog box and once to close the System Properties dialog box.

Quotes by Dwight D. Eisenhower

Quotes by Dwight D. Eisenhower - taken from http://www.pithypedia.com/?author=Dwight+D.+Eisenhower

When people speak to you about a preventive war, you tell them to go and fight it. After my experience, I have come to hate war. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

How far can you go without destroying from within what you are trying to defend from without? --Dwight D. Eisenhower

There is nothing wrong with America that faith, love of freedom, intelligence, and energy of her citizens cannot cure. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

We will bankrupt ourselves in the vain search for absolute security. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

and my favorite

Preventive war was an invention of Hitler. Frankly, I would not even listen to anyone seriously that came and talked about such a thing. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

Next time someone tells you Ron Paul can't win because of his "radical ideas" just remind them that those "radical ideas" were also held by Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and more than a few others that didn't have much trouble on election day.

What Happened to Sean Haninty?

First read the open letter to FoxNews and watch the videos

http://openletter2foxnews.wordpress.com/

Now let me say that I have two of Sean Hannity's books on my shelf and I was a fan before I saw the debate. I was really shocked at his behavior. However, I was thinking about the whole situation and he didn't really behave any differently than he always does but this time his mouth and attitude were directed at someone I like and agree with. I won't be watching his show or buying his books anymore.
